Emmanuel Ojei’s mansion, located near the Niger River, stands as a remarkable testament to luxury and architectural brilliance. In collaboration with Peri Davidovich Architects, this project involved exquisite design elements, including forged iron railings with brass embellishments, and wrought iron balconies, stairs, and gates featuring intricate swirls and curls. The mansion’s anti-terrorism security systems were custom-designed to enhance safety, underscoring the importance of both luxury and protection.
The project began with a 3D animation, simulating the interior and exterior of the estate. Over the course of seven months, the design team crafted a detailed proposal, refining every aspect of the home, from marble colors to armchair designs. After receiving approval from Ojei and his family, the mansion was built over six years.
Located on a 10-acre plot in Issele-Uku, Delta State, the 12,000-square-meter estate consists of a basement, entrance floor, and residential floor. It also includes several other buildings, such as a servants’ house and an entry pavilion for security staff. Ojei, already owning properties in Lagos, Abuja, Europe, and the Persian Gulf, intended this mansion as a family vacation retreat and a venue to entertain high-profile guests.
The mansion features spacious guest rooms, strategically placed to maintain privacy, with corridors designed for discreet movement between spaces. Among the many luxury amenities, the mansion boasts a smoking room, indoor pool, cinema, discotheque, hair salon, bowling alley, and expansive 350-square-meter suites for Ojei and his wife. It also has its own water-purification system and electrical generator, ensuring self-sufficiency.
